Love at first sight.
Although I own a 52 telecaster reissue, a vintage Gibson 347 es and a Takamine Classical Guitar, this Godin Guitar is the one I pick up. It’s neck , action and sound are perfect for finger style , Classical and beyond . The craftsmanship is impeccable. I guess I’ll have to dust off my other guitars occasionally, because this is the Guitar I’ll be playing the most. It such a wonderful instrument I lose track of time, just like when I was a kid. Love at first sight.

Perfect MIDI
Had these for a five years now, and it has behaved like a dream doing light home studio work.Has a pasable electric sound, but my attraction is the MIDI output from the piezo pick-ups.Great workmanship, faultless.

The 13 pin connector is there for a reason
When I purchased my Godin ACS and GR-55 I thought of them as a matching pair and I ordered them at the same time. My Godin arrived first and when I first played it I was very surprised and disappointed. I play a classical guitar style and IMO the guitar was (is) not suitable for this style of playing. It is basically a solid-body electric guitar fitted with nylon strings and piezos. This set up creates a wonderful mellow sound with lots of natural sustain for Willie Nelson kind of leads. But for fingerstyle playing, I thought there was way too much sustain. I couldn't control the sustained ringing of open strings. For example the bottom E bass string would ring loudly for a long time after my fingers had changed to a D chord. I do think this would be a great guitar for a lead player in a church's P&W band.I almost returned it but decided to wait until my GR-55 came in. The GR-55 modeling made all the difference for me. It solved the sustain problems I had and I now love the sound. I'm not saying it's the best sound because I've never owned another guitar synth but the sound I get from the ACS/GR-55 is plenty good enough for me.

Perfect for the classical guitarist.
The neck is wide but slim. Plays almost like an electric guitar except for the wide neck. Connected to a Roland GR-55 it's a very versatile instrument and now my favorite guitar.

Pickup failed
The pickup system failed at 2 years of normal use. So sad.

Parts finding electronics not the guitar
My Godin 2001 SG NAT, 13 pin connector would not hold the cable. After a test found out 4 holes are blocked. I had to force to insert the cable . It finally was impossible. Four months looking for the part all I found, was the picture of the company owner and the picture of the part which a black plate with a 13 pin and a 1/4 jack. All the reps want to sell you another guitar. In fact no mentioning the name one rep did not know what is a 13 pin cable. Sent an email to headquarter, speedy response. however, the answer was your guitar is 2001, we don't make this part and don't have it. The advise was have it fixed. This is not a fixable part you just replace it. I lost so much money assembling guitars to learn. One big reason to say that the best guitars are made here in the USA. This guitar is to some degree a copy of late 1980's Kramer Ferrington 22 frets only has the 13 pin synthesizer capillarity like GR-33, GR-20 etc. If you can't get the part all you have a three stars nylon acrostic good for nothing guitar $300 not over $1000. without accusing one can't help to think if they even made in Canada. Therefore spending over a $1000.00 on this guitar make sure you have access to parts when are needed. After all this guitar is no match to American made guitars such as Taylor, for sure Gibson acoustic electric. If you are ready to spend the money check these factors. Also if your Godin synthesizer 13 pin is more 5 years old get rid of it. Quality of the guitar is not that bad. Assembly questionable. I have other issues, screw which was not set straight when is tide move the unit causing problem. My reason for 3 stars. Action pliability my Asian Ibanez is a match if not better. So you see I don't need to mention Martin, Taylor, Gibson. and in solid body PRS both CE and SE. I am very upset. Please Leave guitar making to USA. In conclusion, if you like to play a nylon sting guitar which has synthesizer access this is the only one I know. Guitar action is good. It is not a loud guitar lack of real sound hole good for practice after mid night. However do yourself a favor and buy an extra unit that include input jacks both 13 pin and 1/4. This way after 5 or 7 years you don't have to look for someone to replace it for you. I called a guitar repair shop near me he told me Godin has problem fixing their own guitars. I am talking electronic high tech parts not the guitar. Forget how warm or cold guitar sound CLICHE talk. We are not taking a shower we play the guitar. If you are not good with soldering DO NOT make an attempt to change the Din 13 pin input jack on the green circuit board. If you or even your local guitar shop don't know what you are doing, you can ruin your Roland GRs Synth a short and then reverse polarity average price $400 for a used one. For about $1300 without synthesizer access you have plenty of choices. Happy Playing

Excellent guitar
I have a VG guitar system and own an electric Robert Moore guitar and an Ovation acoustic, both with the 13 pin connector. This classical Godin is sweet and very fun to play with this system. Quick and smooth fretboard, nice weight, great sound.
