JSP Silver 925 Jewelry Test Solution Scratch Testing Stone and Neutralizer

Had some old dinnerware and wanted to see if it was silver. Tested the utensils and mostly not silver, verified by a jeweler. Accurate.

This product is even better than what I expected. If you are out metal detecting or want to go appraise your rare metal, this is your product. I have actually saved a vast amount of money with this product. I saved my self from buying fake silver because this product never lies. I rate this a 95/100.

I bought this to confirm silver I was collecting. I also tried it on other metals to see how effective it is and I was extremely disappointed by how hard it is to read. So when I would put the drop on the line of silver on the provided pad, the actual solution tends to completely obscure the results! One in four times, when it's silver, I can see some red but I have to turn on a strong flashlight to look through the green fluid. When it doesn't work - which is usual - the acid immediately dissolves the metal and you can't see ANY color because the metal dissolves into the acid! The acid doesn't change color. Support suggested I dab with a paper towel to see the color. It doesn't transfer. First the acid is green or yellow (even if result was red) and the color of that actually disappears within a couple minutes leaving you with nothing. I am extremely disappointed and I'm glad I didn't buy the gold kit. So support literally just gave up on helping me. Ridiculous.

It's hard to see the color on the stone but if you take a piece of paper and wick up the liquid off t hff e stone you can see t hff e color in a flash.If you put the liquid on the metal, it works just fine. Beware! It will etch a spot on the metal. But if you put it on an area that won't be seen, then it works just fine.This has helped me distinguish between nickle silver and sterling silver disc's. So glad I bought it.

IT WORKS BUT ONE MUST USE IT A FEW TIMES TO GET SKILLED AT READING THE RESULTS. AS THE DIRECTIONS SAY DON'T LET IT GET ON YOUR SKIN OR ANYTHING THAT YOU DON'T WANT DAMAGED.
