LifeTek New Yorker Umbrella - Extra Large Windproof Umbrella 54 Inch Coverage with Automatic Open Full Size Quick Drying Teflon Canopy

I got this umbrella because my smaller umbrella could not withstand the wind walking in the parking lot to work. I decided I wanted to upgrade to a bigger umbrella, and since I like to golf, I looked at golf umbrellas and decided on this. Definitely hit two birds with one umbrella (joking) since it is now a perfect work umbrella when it rains, and a fantastic golf umbrella even though I am not a big fan of golfing in the rain. It is great against winds, although I have not tested it against anything wild.

This is a great golf umbrella. It fits perfectly in the umbrella holder of my husband's new Sun Mountain C-130 cart bag so I'm sure it must be the same for other cart bags. The navy blue matches his navy blue bag perfectly. It is very well made, with easy open and close. We highly recommend this umbrella!

Excellent umbrella. It came in perfect condition. I hope it lasts as long as the last golf umbrella I had. It appears to be very well designed, and equally well-constructed. I love the extra, flexible structural pieces connected to the primary structural elements at the top of the fabric cover. They are designed to be in tension and protect the umbrella from high wind damage. And the material for the cover seems to be extremely water repellent and durable. I was very interested in the next size up from this one, because once the size goes up, a type of ventilation "fly" is incorporated to help prevent high wind damage. Maybe in my next purchase of an umbrella I will consider the larger one.

I've been walking to work for over 25 years. No matter what the weather is, I'm always on foot. During rainy days I absolutely depend on a quality umbrella, especially if it's windy. I used a Hammacher Schlemmer "wind defying umbrella" for most of those 25 years and it served me well. But as with all things, it finally bit the dust. Was going to purchase that again from them, but thought I would browse Amazon to see if there was anything comparable. Read good reviews of this umbrella by LifeTek, and with the great price, I decided to go for it.Coming up on the one year point and will say I'm very happy with the performance. I've used this in 30-40mph winds and it's held on strong. At first glance, you can see it's well made. In fact, it is quite heavy and sturdy - that's not a bad thing. To truly make it through high winds, those light-weight, flimsy umbrellas have no chance. So you need it to be sturdy. But it's not so heavy that it strains your arm. It has a push-button mechanism to open and it opens rather gently and smooth. Some umbrellas open abruptly and you wonder how many times it can handle that kind of abuse. The tie-around band to secure it is velcro - probably wouldn't be my first choice (buttons last longer) but it also comes with a sheath that fits over the umbrella snugly to keep it under control when not in use.In addition to being sturdy, you need decent coverage when walking distances in the rain. This product gives you more than enough coverage, especially if you wear a backpack. With a slight tilt backward, you can protect your backpack and still keep the rain off you. One thing (and this is true of all large umbrellas), you have to be mindful of other pedestrians. My experience is people usually get out of my way when they see a large umbrella. So, yeah, I like the intimidation factor. (haha)What really impressed me with this company was my first umbrella arrived with a slight gap in the ring near the tip. It didn't affect the operation of the umbrella and I was just going to live with it, but decided to ask the company about it. I was informed that it was in fact not normal and they immediately shipped me a replacement. From the things I've read about LifeTek, they seem to stand by their products and put thought into the quality of what they sell.

Perfect umbrella. It covers me and everything I carry with me, like my backpack and duffel bag. It is lightweight and it works. I previously had a "Totes Men's Blue Line Golf-Size Vented Canopy Compact Umbrella" and one of the supports holding the canopy in place snapped which made having the umbrella impractical. So far this umbrella has worked and nothing has broken, only time will tell how well this umbrella will hold out.

So this umbrella was bought for my husband. He recently started taking the metro, which is great but he takes his backpack with him and he wanted a big umbrella to cover both since the last one would barely cover him and his bag would be all wet. Well this one seems great. He hasn't had it long but he's got to use it and it covers him and his bag. And two people could get under it and is good as well. He loves the color, is not a bright red and it dries pretty quick. Very nice, definitely another keeper.

Feels like a durable build, I keep it in my car for whenever I need an umbrella out and about. It's easy to open a close (one button open), and doesn't just smash open as fast as it can, but actually goes at a slightly reduced rate which is nice.
