Salt free
My son's doctor put him on a salt free diet. I was very pleased to find this product. Works great for his needs.

Best baking powder EVER!
I have used Clabber Girl for probably 55-60 years. Bought this on a whim, and oh man, what I have been missing! No aluminum aftertaste, and my baked goods and pancakes have been exceptional. The pancake recipe on my tin is perfectamundo!

Perfect performance but has hard flakes in it.
This to me is the best behaving baking powder made, with the right double acting behavior with out the metallic taste of others that perform similarly. I researched far and wide to find this composition of baking powder: non-aluminum and good double action. My only objection is to there being a lot of small very hard flakes about the size of eggshells, but so far these have dissolved in my recipe batters, and it might be key to the double acting action. Also the lid is pretty tough to open. These shortcomings are far outweighed by the great performance.

Not a heart-healthy product, despite claiming only 4 mg sodium per serving
This product contains sodium bicarbonate, which may increase blood pressure. People who already have high blood pressure should avoid sodium bicarbonate. It also contains sodium acid pyrophosphate, a side effect of which may be irregular heartbeat. If you look at the back of the can it says that a serving size is 1/4 teaspoon, but many recipes such as those for biscuits ask for much more baking powder, often about a tablespoon per 8 or so biscuits (if you're using plain flour instead of biscuit mix). Personally after using this product (I am 64 yo) I felt about as good as if I had consumed 1000 mg of salt in one sitting after eating 3 homemade no-salt biscuits, when going by their numbers would only be about 16 mgs of sodium.
