A few adjustments.....
I run three of these and I'm happy with them and their performance. I've seen a few comments about these not fitting properly, corn dust covering them, etc. I'm not one to expect perfection from my hunting equipment and I've built and field-modified a lot of feeders and cameras over the years , so i'll say this: Yes, the plug didnt fit properly on the last one I installed. Some light trimming of the rubber around the plug (or reaming the plug port on the motor housing) and it works fine. And while they may say to mount these below the motor/spreader, don't. Mine are mounted above the bottom rim of the barrel, cord is wrapped around the mount and the barrel legs, then run to the motor. Even have tied the cord to the motor with wire to prevent coons from pulling it loose/out. I hunt West TX so sun is plentiful and they work great. I run on solar only, no battery. They operate twice a day for about 4-5 months of the year and are taken down and stored the other months. They last about 2-3 years on average. Motors last longer than that. In short, manage expectations and dont get discouraged by imperfections. Now, Happy Hunting and GET A BIGGUN! 😉

Some modifications needed
Needed to rim out the plastic hole, around the adapter port on the feeder. Cord plug in was just a hair to big. Both were OEM parts. All in all, works great! And was fully charged.

Haven’t charged the battery installed.
Working so far! Cool design and works well with the American Hunter feeder.

NATURE lovers and hunters take notice
Solar is way better than having to replace and charge batteries. Works wonderfully. Beatlejuice

Ran out of juice within a couple of days
First off the plug would not fit into the feeder head (even though it is the correct American Hunter feeder head for that solar panel), had to use a small rasp to enlarge the hole so the power plug could be inserted (pain in the behind when you are miles out in the woods). As per the instructions, I removed the battery from the feeder head and attached solar panel so it faced south and got direct sunlight. Had a couple of partly cloudy days and the internal battery (in the solar panel) went completely dead (red light on) and the feeder was not dispensing food (I had even charged it for 3 days in direct sunlight before installing it). I have disconnected the solar panel and reinstalled an energizer battery and the feeder works great - To late to return solar panel, but it is worthless - certainly do not recommend.

Does not fit all American hunter feeders
I took the solar panel Out and the solar panel plug on the feeder doesn’t match the solar panel. I’m trying to find adapters, anyone know the American hunter manufacturer? Panel may work great but was not aware of different connectors in the American hunter line, can’t see to find adapters easily.

American Hunter products are just great.
This product is easy to install, has very versatile mounting hardware, and just works. My kids installed it without assistance.
