The GH5 Cage is our “no-cage” cage - lightweight and compact, it packs in a ton of features! The GH5 Cage screws into the bottom of the camera with a provided ¼ 20 screw. It also attaches to the sides of the camera, using the Panasonic eyelets neck strap connection with provided screws. It includes a Zacuto camera hand strap for a secure and comfortable grip on the camera. The cage ends at the eyelet neck strap connection, allowing you to use the camera's built in handgrip, keeping the cage small and light and have easy access to all camera controls. The top of the cage includes numerous ¼ 20 for mounting accessories. It also has a built in Z-Rail for mounting an optional top handle or other accessories. The bottom of the cage has 2 ¼" 20 threads and a 3/6" 16 thread for a tripod plate and a built in dovetail to slide into a VCT Pro shoulder mount baseplate or VCT Pro dock so you can quickly move your camera from handheld, to shoulder mount, to tripod shooting. The dovetail connection point is also where you will connect the optional 15mm lightweight rod support for attaching matte boxes, follow focuses, motors, etc. It will also slide onto our VCT Pro and VCT Pro Dock. The cage is designed for full access to the camera’s battery door, hotshoe and full button control. There is also a built in Metabones adapter support. Included with the cage is a left wooden handgrip with a built in cold shoe. Putting the coldshoe on the left gets it out of the way of the XLR cables for the optional Panasonic audio module mounted to the camera’s hotshoe. For those using the HDMI output, the cage includes an HDMI cable clamp to hold the full size HDMI cable steady to reduce strain. The cable clamp screws directly into the camera - so you can use it without the cage!

Will scratch your camera.
Don't buy. Overrated, overpriced, will damage your camera due to tight fit. One of the worst cages I have ever attempted to use. Save your money get a cheaper cage with a better fit.

Too tight a fit, will scratch the top of your camera and is NOT worth it's price...
I read the previous buyers review, but still my arrogance got the best of me and I purchased this cage..... WHAT A MESS, the fitment is HORRIBLE, it caused a deep scratch on top of my viewfinder and the neck strap eyelets were very off. One of the eyelet screws busted attempting to fit the cage. It's going back and I'm picking up a SmallRig....

The BEST GH5 Cage!
Bar far the best cafe for the GH5/GH5S. Yes, it’s tight - but you want that rock solid connection to your camera. Take car putting it together and have some patience and it will be worth it. This is a cage that you leave the camera in - it would not be for someone who wants to take it in and out of the cage. The placement of the side NATO rail mounted handle is perfect. Took it all over Italy during a shoot and it held up like a champ!

Best GH5 Cage for Atomos Gear
Having three points of contact for mounting the camera has been absolutely invaluable to me. I do a lot of work in action sports and am constantly moving my camera in all kinds of crazy ways. Most commonly it’s mounted on a Glidecam setup and I’ll say right now that i’ve never had such a damn sturdy cage. Especially when it’s mounted with my Shogun Inferno (if you are considering the Inferno, definitely take a look at the mount they made specifically for the GH5 cage). It’s not the most expandable cage setup, but what it does cover, it covers with excellence. I attached a photo of my setup minus some cords and my follow focus (haha Just a tad lazy at the moment). Anyway, I’d definitely recomend this cage! It treats me well. :) Atleast for the last week or so that i’ve been using it.
