1st time I went to use the trowel, Trowel has a kink in the middle of the blade, making it unusable for final trowelling of plaster, so total waste of money,No way of returning the item as no returns acceptedCan’t believe I can’t return an item unfit for purpose, last time I order anything from amazon

Bought this trowel as my mate had borrowed one from another plasterer who swears by it. I only use MT trowels so took a chance on buying the Nela trowel and ill be honest, I'm surprised how good this trowel rubs up. Its a very flexible blade, almost to the point where if your normal trowel was bending the "wrong" way you would bin it. Seen people saying they use it for coating too, I would only use it for a final rub, the good thing with this is that it needs no pressure to get it like glass. I made the mistake of applying a bit of pressure and it was almost leaving an orange peel affect. I like the handle as I prefer the wooden handles on MT trowels so don't be put off the first time you use it. If your thinking of buying it I would recommend it, I would also purchase another Nela trowel maybe a steel one for a change as its certainly the same quality as MT.

I have some venetian trowels but I think they're too soft for skimming lime plaster, this is much better. I've done a lime plastering course and just finished replastering a room using this trowel (using lime plaster). It's a great trowel and the room wouldn't look as good with out it. However when swapping overhand to underhand skimming, it knocks against my knuckles and now I have bruised knuckles. The handle was supposed be cork but looks like plastic to me.For laying the scratch coat on laths you will need a hard trowel, this is useless for pushing haired lime plaster between the laths (esp ceiling).

This is a remarkable trowel. I’ve used a few of the different top brand trowels over the years but principally Marshaltown Gold. This trowel holds its own and then some. The cork handle is a dream and the slightly flexible blade makes finishing so easy that I almost feel like I’m cheating.

Best trowel my husband has had who has plastered fir 40 years, but dropped it after x couple of weeks, now need a new one.

Bought as a gift for my boyfriend he loves this trowel , he said it's a great finishing trowel and worth every penny.

Used it today and it was great, much better than the ox one
