It is really hard to write a review about this mic because I don't talk to anyone except the computer's Cortana so I don't know how the sound quality really is although I can tell you it definitely works and Cortana can understand what I am saying with no problems or me having to constantly repeat myself. I had no problems 'installing' it, I simply plugged it into the mic port on the computer and it worked. The mic itself is lightweight, I wish the base was a little heavier so it don't get knocked over so easy or when adjusting the mic part up, the whole thing lifts off the desk but for the price, it can't be beat. I never had a mic before so I didn't have a clue what the little button on the base did and nowhere on or in the box is this explained that I saw, it is possible I just missed it but it is to mute the mic while the button is being pressed. This mic does exactly what I need it to do without spending a lot of money so I am very happy with my purchase.

I was hoping to get a microphone that didn't make a loud click in my recordings when I press mute switch, no such luck here. Also the mic sounds like I'm far away even when I'm only a foot or two from it.Update:The company has sent me a new model of this microphone, USB instead of the 3.5mm phone jack. The sound is much cleared and louder than the previous model. I do like this microphone now.The mute switch is no longer a mute switch, however, it is an on-off switch. When you press it, it either connects or disconnects the device from your computer. It is not totally suitable for my needs, but it is a vast improvement over the previous model.Also, I would like to point out the amazing customer service provided.

This is THE WORST microphone I've ever used. Allow me to explain the Pros and Cons:Pros:- 0. No pros.Cons:- Does not pick up your voice unless you literally put your mouth on it and scream at it. I've cranked up all mic volumns on both my computer and laptop and yeah, this mic picks up almost nothing.- includes no instructions for the button.- You can never tell when the microphone is on or off. There's no LED or anything to indicate when it's working or not. So it's always a guess to whether it's working or not. I always have to manually open up my volume settings and test to see if it's even on. The button APPEARS to be a 1-push to turn on, 1-push to turn off but it picks up sound so poorly that I can barely tell.- Made of very cheap, light plastic. The very thin and light wire hanging off the desk is enough to pull the mic across the desk. The little nubs on the bottom appear to do nothing to make it stick. I had to stick it down with some double-stick tape to get it to stay.Over all, even though this mic was on the cheaper end, it's really not worth it. I would not pay 2 cents for this mic. Returning.NOTE: I guess there IS a possibility that I just received a broken/non-working microphone but it seems that the other reviews on this one tend to say some of the same things. So idk. Buy at your own risk. Added a picture to show which mic I purchased.

I've used this for about three weeks now and it works well. No issues with sound or levels. I usually have it 12 to 18 inches away and off to the side and sound pickup seems to be great. Only 4 stars as I always have a problem knowing whether it is muted or not. I think it would be more user friendly if it was marked so you could tell if it was muted or not.

I have sent this message twice and have written to Amazon about it. If I missed your reply, please contact me again. I would like to have someone contact me with a phone number for me to call your company to have someone talk me through the hook-up of microphone to my computer. I think it is me instead of the mic. I am 79 and just don't grasp all this new stuff. I badly need to use a mic. to help me type as my fingers are getting very bad and I can't do much typing any more. It is very slow going and I get tired too quick. PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE SEND ME A TELEPHONE NUMBER TO HELP ME. LJB

I bought the microphone that would plug into the headphone jack of my acer chromebook. It did not work for me. I emailed the seller to ask for help because I'm not very tech savvy. They immediately sent me a usb microphone at no charge without asking me to return the other microphone. The chromebook recognizes the microphone, the audio is all the way up, and the microphone power light is on, but still no go. I bought it for video chats, but it is not working for me. Perhaps it's my chromebook. I would definitely do business with NEWHAODI again as their customer service is absolutely excellent. My guess is it's user error, and NEWHAODI has done everything possible to ensure a positive experience with them. I cannot say enough about their great customer service.

mic is well packaged. The instruction included is REALLY helpful, even fix the problem of my other input device ^_^.Mic is clear, it picks up the voice very well. I usually speak in low voice and it works great even in distance.Button: it is ON/ OFF, means like plug in / out. So you know what happens if u use a laptop. But I don't mind that, I used to mute on software on laptops.

Great quality and really punches above its price tag. I am on my second only because the first one (that lasted 6 years) got its cord torn internally by mistake while cleaning up wiring around my PC (even then it was probably like 200lbs of pressure that made it break). Once again just a very well rounded product and extremely affordable.

Windows is not my prime OS but I wanted a mic to talk to the PC at times. The mic was easy to set up and use. I had to adjust the mic volume all the way to the top and then all worked fine. Cheap, but substantial enough and voice to text works fine. It’s fine for what it is, a budget mic.

Plugged it into a USB port on my Macbook Pro and switched my Zoom calls over to this Mic and now people can hear a lot better than the built in Mic. So far so good.

Mic is way too quiet; it has to be placed right next to you mouth to hear anything.

Not expensive and perfect for Zoom meetings. It sounds better than my laptop's microphone.
