Works with wall switches!
This was the second replacement fan we tried to install- the first fanimation fan from Lowe’s took 2 weeks to deliver and was extremely difficult to install (especially on the sloped ceiling) and the receiver that they expected you to fit inside the mount was easily double the size of the receiver that comes with this fan.. it also had 3 more wires to attach. This fan was delivered next day and was easy to install- I was able to directly connect the light to our wall led dimmer switch and connected the fan motor to another wall on/off switch which still allows for control of the fan speed from the remote. One big difference between this fan and the on from Lowe’s is that this fan weighs easily twice as much. I don’t know if that’s a good thing (quality) or bad (harder to carry up the ladder). Thanks to another reviewer, I didn’t order the downrod that Amazon recommended and instead, ordered the “Hunter 26043 24-Inch Downrod, New Bronze” and it worked perfectly even with the threaded bottom that wasn’t needed but didn’t affect the assembly. The color doesn’t match the fan finish exactly but they’re both dark and this fan is 12 ft up so no one would ever be able to tell. As other reviewers have mentioned, the light is not super bright and does have a spotlight effect but I don’t mind as we have other lights to supplement it. The fan works great and pushes a good amount of air & both blade options are great! I chose to use to oak side. Oh yeah, attaching the blades is kind of a pain, but you only have to do it once (Ok, 8x technically) so I just watched tv while I prepped them and I lived to tell the tale.Overall love this fan and would recommend. I would buy another if we decide to add a fan to another bedroom!

I’m happy i have a ceiling fan again
My old 1988 fans are failing one by one in my house. I purchased this one as a test run, mainly because of the Honeywell brand, and secondly the price.I’m disappointed. When you open the box you are given multiple warnings that Honeywell has nothing to do with the product, other than they were paid to let a Chinese manufacturer put their name on the packaging. The installation took forever due to the poor instructions, 8 fan blades, and each blade requires 6 screws, and three screw caps. The remote receiver needs to be installed up at the top in the fan mount. Very little room to work with in that location and they could have easily had it installed above the light. So much for Chinese engineering. They include a “shipping block” that is screwed to the fan. You are instructed to remove the shipping block but nowhere does it tell you to keep the screws that hold the shipping block on, because they will be needed later to hold the lights on. You learn that at the end when you need screws to secure the light and you realize none are supplied with the fan.The light seems to flicker. It does dim though which was a feature I was not expecting, and I don't believe that feature is listed in the product description. The fan has a noticeable hum on all speeds. The remote is horrible. Super cheap. You need to stand with the remote a few feet from the fan for it to register. Why even have a remote? BUT YOU NEED IT to control the fan. Maybe the supplied batteries are weak, and it will improve with new batteries. All in all, If I had the to choose between having a broken ceiling fan, or this one, I would rather have this one. I did however buy a second one (before i installed the first one) due to the sale price, and it will be in a room nobody ever uses.

BIG FAN, BEST FAN! I wish I could replace all my existing fans for some of these!!!
This thing pushed AIR MAN! Holy smokes! If you need a cheap and ineffective fan, like the one we replaces with this one, then don't get this one. If you need a fan that works well, what cools you off on a warm summer night, get this one.My only hiccup was the fact that the battery that it needs is REALLY weird. I had never seen one before, and did not know if it was gonna even be available in stores. I found one at Albertsons (a USA national chain of grocery and household goods store-kind-of-a-place)... Anyhoo...This was one of the easiest things I've been able to with the help of me and my son to assist. We used two 6' ladders to do the whole thing.First we turned off the circuit breaker outside. DO NOT TRY TO SKIP THIS STEP!!!Then we unscrewed the old fan in place and replaced the mounting bracket, (which you NEED to replace due to a little piece that helps the whole thing not come off and kill someone...) and then wire up the wires according to the manual... it was super easy. My ONLY frustration was that the only way to control the fan was to use the remote and the battery that it came with, was DEAD. For a few hours we thought we had gotten a broken fan... but it was just a battery issue. Once we got it replaces--- it was all good. We've had the fan for just over a month, and absolutely LOVE it. If you are looking for a quiet and quite beautiful fan, this is the one!Oh... and we discovered if you hold the light button on the remote, it will cause the light to dim or grow brighter... so that's cool!
