This bottle jack worked great. It's not the best tool to use but ...
Purchased this Powerbuilt 647501 12 ton jack for use on my work truck. I have an E450 box truck with about 4,000lbs of gear in the back. I figure the whole truck weighs about 14,000lbs. I needed to take off my rear dual tires but my 2 ton floor jack couldn't lift it. This bottle jack worked great. It's not the best tool to use but for the money it did the job. The jack is the quality I expected (for the money). It does not leak, held pressure, and lifted my truck.

Great Value
This is a good, sturdy jack. Nothing super exciting about it, other than it has worked great for my at home needs. The carrying case is a great add on as well.

Good Value
I researched for a while before I settled on this jack, my main requirement was that it could lift something 7 inches in one operation, and the specifications seemed to indicate that this was within its capabilities, and given the dimensions I thought it might be big enough to include a piston that moved that distance. However this is not so, the piston travels only 5 inches (less one-sixteenth of inch), you can extend the lifting range by using the threaded extension, but to do this you need to hold the load with a separate support, release and lower the jack, unscrew the extension and then you can lift the load another 3 inches from its supported position. I had hoped that the threaded insert was also hydraulically controlled, but it's simply a manually adjusted extension that you can only unscrew prior to lifting - it's effectively no different than adding a block to the top of the piston, or putting the jack on a raised platform. However in its defence, my problems result from my misinterpretation of the specs - there is nothing inaccurate in the description - you most certainly can raise something to the height of 16+ inches above the ground - but only if it's already 11+ inches of the ground (piston fully depressed, threaded extension fully extended); you can also raise it to that maximum height if the load starts 3 inches lower, ie the height of the jack (8+ inches) with the piston at its depressed position; but to do so requires 2 operations as described above. So there's no way I can criticize the tool - it does what it says on the tin.As others have said, the paint finish is a little clumsily applied but it's a 12 ton jack, not a piece of fine porcelain and the box the jack comes in is not sufficiently rigid to stand up to the bumps and abuse of shipping from halfway around the world, so it arrives torn and repaired, swathed in sticky tape, but that's because it's a lump of irregularly shaped metal weighing 14lbs, it's asking a lot for a cardboard box to contain something like that and survive being shaken around unscathed. But while the box is (relatively) flimsy for the task, the tool is rugged and I was able to put it to good use, although not quite as easily as I'd hoped - I needed to incorporate an intermediate static load-bearing support stage before I could lift the load to its desired height using the threaded extension.Bottom line, for the price, it's good value.

Ailtrade 2 ton bottle jack
I needed a 6" tall bottle jack to replace the one in my 'ultimate mx jack'. This one fit perfectly & was 1/3 the overall cost ( from the 'ultimate mx jack' company). I had no real problems. The unit had some air lodged in in from shipping, but a brief look at the instructions and everything was resolved in 2 minutes. Works great and was inexpensive.Added 9/15/14- This jack has performed well for over a year and shows no sign of problems. It is used at least twice a month.

Oil soaked box, bubbles past seal
Jack's top of box was soaked in oil when it arrived. Jack seems to work OK. You can see bubbles around the jack's seal when it's holding up a load.I don't think I'd buy this brand again.

Well made jack
This is a well made jack. One review said they had to bleed it. I did not. The release valve was set to the middle of it's adjustment range and the pump handle did not actuate the piston as delivered. I had to tighten the valve fully and firmly clockwise then all was good. There was a little paint between the valve thread and the body which broke loose once tightened fully. I would buy again and recommend.

Did not work when needed
We bought this Jack and had it in our emergency tote that we carry with us when we camp or go on vacation. We have never used it because we never needed it. Today, however, we blew a tire on our boat trailer on a very busy highway. The Jack would not work. We tried to take the screw out and oil started leaking. We could not get the screw back in. The jack would not go up at all. It was very frustrating and scary. For this being the first time using this product……bad performance!
